Why moisture control matters

Fresh agricultural residues can contain significant amounts of moisture, depending on the crop, harvesting method and storage conditions. Excess moisture increases transportation weight, affects storage and can make the material difficult to process consistently.

Preparing biomass for densification

Once moisture is controlled, the biomass can be processed and densified into a compact fuel. Consistent preparation helps improve product density, durability and handling characteristics, giving manufacturers greater control over the finished bio-coal.
